Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Emergency Village
Drees & Sommer were appointed to provide strategic management services, including Programme Director and Project Management Office, business case writing, and healthcare planning services to develop and submit the Outline Business Case and Full Business Case for the redevelopment of the Trust’s Critical Care and Emergency Department. We have also provided estate wide energy audits as part of a previous appointment with the Trust.
The project transformed the emergency department footprint, to improve quality of patient care and experience. The scheme created an ambulatory village and re-designed all non-elective care pathways as well as the centralisation of the critical care units across the Trust, which were in three locations, to create a combined facility run by a single clinical and management team.
