YOTEL Amsterdam Noord
Drees & Sommer were engaged to support the construction of the Hotel Asterweg, a new hotel being constructed north of the river in the epicentre of the up-and-coming Buiksloterham neighbourhood. The hotel provides 202 cabins and a range of restaurants and bars in the distinctive YOTEL style.
Drees & Sommer were appointed as Client Representative and Cost Consultant, to deliver the YOTEL Amsterdam Noord on time and to budget. In the first instance our team carried out the Client Representative role for the shell works but were also retained to coordinate the FF&E procurement and installation on site.
Drees & Sommer monitored the projects design throughout the pre-contract period and once the project commenced on site we were engaged to fully manage the commercial and project delivery.
We were also commissioned to coordinate the FF&E procurement and installation once the shell works had been completed. This process took two months and was overlapped between shell completion and Hotel opening.
Following opening of the Hotel, our team ran a defects tracker for the 12 months post practical completion. This was monitored by monthly updates and meetings with the wider team and YOTEL (operator) could raise any defects that were identified during this phase.
